Asgardia is a new concept for a floating society above Earth

If you just can’t stand another disheartening event here on Earth, moving to Asgardia might be good for you. Asgardia would be a floating nation where you can live as a space citizen above the Big Blue. Unlike other space programs, it will hold no allegiance to any country on Earth. It will be planet-independent. However, one of its major functions would be to protect Earth from threats coming from space (meteors, man-made debris, and yes, aliens).

Unlike the society we live in now, Asgardia will be united, without Earth-like borders and with all citizens working toward the same shared goals. Its founders eye a starting population of 100,000 (already more than are 400,000 on the waitlist) which will grow along with the facilities.
