The structure's exterior is clad in a uniform surface of pixels to create a unique climbing experience

Design agency Reiulf Ramstad Arkitekter‘s Norwegian Mountaineering Center offers an innovative interpretation of the surrounding landscape, showing off nature's amazing dimensions and the dramatic experience of mountaineering. Located by the Romsdal Fjord in Åndalsnes, the building's design is based on its function as a location for mountaineering and a gathering place for locals and visitors.

The structure effectively communicates what takes place inside: its height provides plenty of space for tall rock walls inside while a skylight at the peak lets in natural light. Its exterior is clad in a uniform surface of pixels, reminiscent of a snow-capped mountain.
