Automaker Volvo Buses has unveiled safety technology for unprotected road-users, in the hope of reducing the 1.25 million annual road traffic deaths. The Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection System continuously monitors the buses’ surroundings. It uses a camera, image-processing system, and algorithms for the detection of pedestrians and cyclists.
