The "A Character's Coat" collection from Pia Bauernberger is a foray into unique, hand-crafted clothes that tell a story

Personalized, well-fitted clothes are the dream of any fashion consumer, as well as the nightmare of any designer. While the image of a ‘second-skin' garment is ideal, it’s not a practical endeavor for designers to pursue and better left for a tailor’s hand. Yet, Austrian Womenswear label Pia Bauernberger took the plunge, designing a series of workwear coats customized for Austria’s most interesting creative individuals. Showcased at Vienna Design Week, the collection titled “A Character’s Coat” is meant to inspire buyers who may adorn future reproductions, as well as tell a story about Austria’s diverse creative landscape.
