Sign Uses Solar Power And Electronic Paper
Soofa's Bench in Boston offers a sustainable way to advertise, and is currently providing live updates given by city officials
Technology company Soofa and electronic paper experts Visionect teamed up to deploy a solar powered charging station, the Soofa Sign, in Boston. The sign uses e-paper to display real time notifications of local events and city services and only requires four bolts for installation.
The solar cell provides the Soofa Sign with all the energy it needs. City officials can send updated information about local events wirelessly through Visionect's advanced signage technology. In that way, Soofa Sign acts as a community board without the need for pins or paper.
