Verso is using facial recognition technology to show which political leaders get the most air time

As the world is being inundated with news on the U.S. presidential election, Russian startup Verso has launched an AI experiment with computer-vision software to analyze the press coverage of political figures during real-time events.

The software examines international media reportage in real time to see how messages are disseminated. Its algorithms use facial recognition technology to detect political figures on TV and digital media broadcasts with 99 percent accuracy.

Viewers can also email Verso to get a comprehensive overview on how specific leaders and countries are being covered, in order to identify gaps and biases.
