The narrative format allows companies to better combine features such as video, text and GIFs

News reader app Flipboard has announced the launch of an ad platform called Storyboard that will give brands a way to craft visually appealing narratives for their audience through the use of a variety of formats, from video and articles to images, GIFs and audio.

The concept plays into Flipboard’s function as a news curator that allows users to swipe up or down to flip through stories. With Storyboard, that audience of 90 million users also be able to swipe left or right to consume ads that feel more like cohesive stories than standalone pieces.
