By frequently visiting your favorite places to eat, Marsbot learns what you like and tells you about locations you haven't gone to yet around your city

Picking a restaurant in which to wine and dine often comes down to personal preferences or using Google maps to see what’s nearby. Tech company Foursquare Labs has created an application called Marsbot to come to the rescue when on the lookout for a trendy locale. The application tracks the restaurants you visit and sends you automatic notifications to your phone about upcoming openings or alternate haunts.

The curated list displays a map of the city featuring the highest-reviewed locations partnered with information blurbs, along with a function allowing users to pose questions to Foursquare directly. By remembering locations users visit using their phone’s GPS, it then sends future recommendations based on these places to users via text. In this way, Foursquare compares Marsbot to filling the role of a friend who is a food guru and knows the best places in town to visit.
