Atlis lets people ask for the best place to eat, and pays the recommenders whose suggestions are taken

Online reviews can make or break a business, so it’s no wonder that the integrity of the reviews is as important as ever. For those who know the best places in the area for food, new service Atlis is willing to pay for restaurant recommendations.

The way the service works is rather simple: a person puts out an “ask” for a specific kind of cuisine or the best food in a particular neighborhood. People put in their recommendations, and if theirs is chosen, the person gets $5 sent directly to their PayPal account. If multiple people suggest the same place, however, only the first person to suggest it will get both the credit and cash. This is a great service for those looking to discover new places in their own backyards or who are traveling somewhere new and want personalized recommendations. The app is currently only available in New York but will likely expand soon.
