The EMPWR is a water-resistant jacket made from donated materials

Nonprofit organization The Empowerment Plan has developed a multi-purpose jacket that can transform into various useful items. Designed to meet the needs of the homeless, the EMPWR coat turns into a sleeping bag for cold winter nights and can even be worn as an over-the-shoulder bag when not in use.

The coat is made of durable, water-resistant Cordura fabric from Carhartt, upcycled automotive insulation from General Motors and other donated materials. Over 15,000 EMPWR coats have been distributed across 40 states in the U.S., seven Canadian provinces, and even a few countries internationally.
