The New York Times and Samsung have partnered to bring a series of daily VR news videos to its readers. Journalists are equipped with Samsung’s Gear 360 and other equipment necessary to capture the panoramic experience. The project, called the Daily 360, lets users immerse themselves in a wide range of content, from the rubble of an airstrike in Yemen to a farmer’s opinion on California’s Prop 64. VR-enabled tech is not required to watch Daily 360, though, as users can use a desktop mouse to swivel the camera or tilt their tablet or smartphone.
