The new pitch in Atlanta gives city children a public space to exercise

Local children in Atlanta are now getting kicks out of a new soccer field that has been built inside the city's largest public metro station Five Points. Nonprofit Soccer in the Streets and MLS team Atlanta United Football Club teamed up to create the program they are calling Station Soccer.

Centrally located and easily accessible from anywhere in Atlanta, it enables children from all backgrounds to have access to sport. The football club's foundation provided the funding for the field, creating a free program entered around providing mentorship to hundreds of children through after-school soccer activities, as a way to deter them from negative influences. Ultimately the soccer field is a place where soon-to-be Beckhams can hone their skills regardless of their socioeconomic status.
