Sean Yoro rides out to icebergs in Canada to create works of art on the melting forms

Want to really break the ice on climate change awareness? Take a leaf out of Sean Yoro‘s book, who rode a surfboard to Canadian territory Nunavut to paint on ice caps. Yoro partnered with wildness photographer Renan Ozturk in a series titled What If You Fly.

Yoro would search for a suitable slab of ice to work on (a difficult task!) and Ozturk would capture the artwork from ideal perspectives. Much of the ice the pair encountered was too thin or would melt before the piece was finished.

Yoro used non-toxic oil paints on the ice and removed the pieces soon after the photos were taken as the art was not intended to remain on the .
