Hermes Pop-Up Shop In Japan Takes Over An Old Preserved Building
The store was created in the Gion district of Kyoto where it will change depending on the season and time of the year
French high fashion luxury goods manufacturer Hermès has designed a pop-up shop in Kyoto, on Gion’s Hanamikoji Street. The building was given a complete renovation, though the shop will remain there for only a total of nine months.
Koichiro Oniki, previously the chief director of design studio Nendo before establishing Oniki Design Studio, was hired to renovate the location. The shelves inside were created using interlocking wooden joints to make dismantling and changing the design as easy as possible.
