HP’s Bot Lets Workers Print Directly From Slack
Hewlett Packard's chat bot integration means fast, convenient printing for all
Though most paper documents have disappeared into the digital nebula, the necessity of tangible articles has helped keep printers in demand. For that reason, HP has created its own slackbot to aid the messaging and file sharing giant on its quest to make the office world be less busy. Whereas previously users would have had to download shared documents and then print from the respective software, this HP bot makes the process more seamless.
While HP’s separate bot for Facebook Messenger is intended for people who wish to print materials by sharing them with a bot, the company’s slackbot exists in the background and isn’t as conversational.
Future iterations may upgrade the bot to include customized print jobs and the ability to collate or print on both sides. HP Skype, Microsoft Teams, SMS, and other chat platform bots are also in the works.
