Mercedes Reveals Dazzle-Free LED Headlights

Digital Light offers great precision with a resolution of over two million pixels

Auto manufacturer Mercedes‘ new headlight technology, Digital Light, is dazzle-free continuous main beam LED tech that offers a resolution of more than two million pixels.

Algorithms receive detailed information about the surroundings from vehicle sensors and calculate the brightness value for each pixel. The sensors detect other road users and after the data is evaluated, the headlamps are given commands for adapting the light distribution in all situations. This provides the driver with optimum vision without dazzling other road users. Over 8,000 LEDs have been integrated into the new light units, which are also able to project symbols and figures onto the road. Check out Digital Light in the video below:
