Dean & DeLuca's brand extension called Stage put the spectacle of food on display for diners

In the first two decades of the 21st century, we have witnessed how food is becoming more and more popular as the focus for entertainment. The popularity of shows such a Top Chef, MasterChef, and Cake Boss are all evidence of our new obsession with food. Subsequently, there has been a transformation in chefs’ status, from behind-the-scenes player to culinary rockstar. Reflecting this shift in culture, New York delicatessen chain Dean & DeLuca has developed a new dining concept called Stage, designed with the kitchen as the stage and the chefs as performers, to entertain customers.
