In Brief

This mobile screen and projector means work can go anywhere and still feel like working from home

What if you could put a 24 inch display into your handbag? Turns out you don’t need magical shrinking powers, but rather just a Spontaneous Pop-up Display (SPUD)—a portable display you can collapse down to the size of the book to fit into a backpack. As the brainchild of Texas-based company Arovia, the lightweight 24-inch screen is designed to display what’s on your phone or tablet, or serve as a second monitor.

How were the seeds of the concept sewn? Arovia’s cofounder and CEO Alexander Wesley grew frustrated with not being able to work as productively while on-the-go.  With a background in optics and product management, he teamed up with cofounders and CTO George Zhu and cofounder and CMO Justin Mintzer to begin prototyping SPUD.
