The mail delivery service is trying out new environmentally friendly electric bikes to make their holiday drop offs

Want to cut down on carbon emissions? Go oldschool! As delivery trucks deliver thousands of packages a day, they use ample fuel. While electric transportation technology has been mostly geared towards individual consumer vehicles, one delivery company is testing it out for their routes.

UPS eBikes debuted in Portland on November 21 to deliver packages during the holiday season. Designed by Truck Trikes, the bike can haul 600 pounds and uses a battery-powered electric motor to help make the deliveries.
