Rather than let stainless steel truck tarps go to waste, Freitag took the material to turn it to a headphone frame and case

Freitag, a Swedish based company founded by Zürich local brothers Markus and Daniel Freitag, use recycled truck tarp to create headphones frame and case. The brothers collaborated with Sennheiser, a German audio company, to create the headphones.

Every headphone and case uses the same, individualized tarp material. The tarp was designed using stainless steel hinges and aluminum sliders before retrofitting into the case and frame. Attached to the audio wire users can adjust the volume of their music and has a built in microphone to answer calls.

The Freitag founded the company in 1993. They wanted to give consumers an option to choose a product made from recycled materials. The brothers use other materials, such as used car seats, air bags and bicycle inner tubes for their other creations.
