The analogue & digital device makes a playlist on a phone while listening to records

Vinyl has seen a revival in the last few years with more music lovers interested in learning more about records and turntables. Gearbox Records, a vinyl led record label, has created The Gearbox Automatic, a hybrid turntable attempting bring together the convenience of digital and experimental feeling of analog music.

The Gearbox Automatic syncs with a Bluetooth signal for smartphones and wireless headphones. When connected to a smartphone, users will receive a push notification about the current song playing. An option is provided to add the piece of music to a digital library of their choice to listen wherever they are.

The team at Gearbox have created a Kickstarter campaign for the product, with a goal of $104,852. Backers have pledged a total of $9,914 as of Jan 5, 2017, and the campaign will continue for another 26 days.

Pre-ordering The Gearbox Automatic will cost a total of $492. Those who pledge a total of $37 are invited to Gearbox’s mastering studio in London to hear the turntable in action and receive a free Gearbox album of their choice.
