In today’s world, nothing rings truer than the age-old adage “a picture says 1,000 words.” According to the Social Science Research, approximately 65% of us are visual learners, which is crafty adverts and smartly designed infographics have more pull for most people than large bodies of text or even the most catchy melodies. With that in mind, Korean startup Anyractive has designed a pipeline looking to make the world more interactive and visually appealing. By combining a camera, stylus and app, the company’s feature product GoTouch works to turn any display, be it a TV, monitor or projector into a touchscreen you can write and draw on.

While the product is primarily marketed towards business professionals seeking to make an impact in meetings, educators are also picking up on the handy device as a virtual whiteboard of sorts. Not only can you use the blank canvases to convey complex ideas, but you can also pull up preexisting images, pdfs and video files to annotate important materials.

GoTouch works by using its 4k camera to track the movements of the accompanying pen at 100 frames per second (more than three times faster than the refresh rate of most TVs), which, when synced to the application, allows co-workers, students and teachers to share screens on their respective computers, tablets or mobile devices. With its bi-directional technology, autonomy over the shared devices is possible for all parties involved, even if a person or group doesn’t own their own stylus.

On a mission to facilitate communication through better interaction with various technologies, the company is currently accepting pre-orders for the device, slated for shipment in February 2017 for those who helped fund it on Kickstarter. If you were late to the party, you can still get your hands on a GoTouch through the company website.
