Uber has introduced a new website that aims to help improve urban planning around the world by providing access to anonymized data from over two billion trips. Movement features data that is aggregated into the same types of geographic zones that transportation planners use to evaluate which parts of cities need expanded infrastructure.

As Uber trips occur in cities around the world 24/7, they can reliably estimate how long it takes to get from one place to another by analyzing countless trips over time, and can compare travel conditions at different times of day, days of the week or months of the year, including how travel times are impacted by important events or road closures.
