TrackR has developed a new hub that attaches to an electric socket to make it easier to keep tabs on valuable possessions around the house

The TrackR Pixel is one of those products that we’ve waited our whole lives to come into fruition. Well, so long to playing the waiting game. Your patience has paid off. California based tech company has released the TrackR Pixel—a coin-sized device can be easily attached to a wallet, bike, or keys so your items can be tracked if you lose them.

As an enhanced version of the company’s TrackR Bravo device, the Pixel is available in nine colors and is made of plastic making it more durable than the aluminum Bravo. The device also features a battery that lasts up to one year, a ring volume of 86 decibels and an LED light that turns on when activated making it easier to see in the dark.

2mm thinner than the original TrackR wallet which was a bit too bulky to slip easily into a standard sized wallet, the updated device closely resembles a regular credit card so if your wallet is stolen the thief won’t immediately notice that there is a tracking device inside.

Additionally, the company has also created a TrackR Atlas—a wall plug that acts as a central hub to locate all of your connected items. The Atlas is able to map your home and locate exactly what room your objects are located in, while keeping a running history of the movement of your possessions and alerting you when a particular item enters or leaves certain rooms.

TrackR uses Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Low Energy radios to locate both TrackR enabled objects as well as other products such as Tiles. Eventually the TrackR app will not be needed to locate the items as the company is working with Amazon to integrate the capabilities with Alexa so down the line you’ll be able to locate lost items with just your voice.
