A new collaboration aims to bring the point of sale into many new areas

IBM and Visa are collaborating to bring the point of sale everywhere by enabling businesses to quickly introduce secure payment experiences for any device connected to the Internet of Things.

These two companies share a commitment to embed payments and commerce into any device, including watches, rings, appliances, and cars. This collaboration combines IBM’s Watson IoT platform and cognitive capabilities with Visa’s global payments capabilities. The aims is to let businesses infuse secure payments across their entire product lines using the Visa Token Service, new security tech that replaces sensitive payment account info found on payment cards with a unique digital identifier.
