Noir Reads delivers books from prominent and up and coming black authors on a monthly basis

A much needed addition in the subscription box space, Noir Reads, is a service aiming to raise awareness and develop deeper engagement with black literature. Created by Derick Brewer and Zellie Imani, the service costs $35 a month, or $100 for a three month subscription, and you get two to three books per month from authors like Angela Davis, Ta-Nehisi Coates, and James Baldwin as well as new authors who would otherwise be challenged to get their voices heard.

The goal of Noir Reads is to profile multiple perspectives with a global range hoping to create a better understanding of the black experience. In addition to the monthly box delivery, a companion community site exists to allow subscribers to engage with others in conversations about the books they've been reading.
