The Fin is made for women by women, made to augment touch without impeding it

Crowdfunding platforms have helped democratize product development across various industries, but the sex toy world has remained vastly unconquered. Not for the lack of creative innovations, but due to the ban on pornographic materials in the platforms’ rulebook. However, with the sex toy market being estimated at $15 billion, and the growth rate expected at 6.91% till 2020, the crowdfunding giants can no longer afford to turn their eyes away. Kickstarter, the last one to loosen the restrictions on sex-themed tech projects, has already seen a major success.

After collecting $394,360 from 4,844 backers on the platform, the Fin vibrator from Dame Products is ready to enter the mass production phase. The Fin is a wearable vibrator which nestles between your fingers for clitoral stimulation. With three intensities of vibration and with different feel on each end of the bulb, it is simple, yet powerful. Due to its small size, it feels like a natural extension of your hand, simply augmenting the natural touch.

This is not the first time that Dame Products took a crowd-funding platform by storm. Back in 2014, the company raised $841,357 on Indiegogo for their hands-free vibrator for couples, Eva.

Dame Products was founded by two impressive women—Alexandra Fine who holds her Masters in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University and Janet Lieberman who earned her mechanical engineering degree from MIT. The company is dedicated to changing the way women experience sex and to closing the pleasure gap between men and women.

With the loosening of the regulations on promoting sex-driven products on crowdfunding platforms, we can only expect to see an increase in feminist, high-tech sex toys.
