Jérémy Landes created the text for Frànçois & the Atlas Mountain's latest album

Producing an album generally happens a lot quicker than developing a typeface, however, Jérémy Landes, the co-founder of Velvetyne a French type foundry, developed a new typeface for the latest Frànçois & the Atlas Mountains album in just seven months! Landes calls it Solide Mirage, the same name as the album in which it's featured.

How were the seeds of the font sewn? Frontman of the band, Frànçois Marry, had approached his good friend Landes about creating a logo for the band. The fans had given the band the acronym, FATAM, which Marry was not fond of. Once the logo was finished, it served as the beginnings of the typeface.

What's more, Landes made the typeface available online for anyone to download.
