A creative agency created the installation to encourage Germans to vacation in Mexico

The Mexico Tourism Board partnered with creative agency LAPIZ to challenge the mindset of a German's animosity of the rain. The companies combined a storm cloud with a German's favorite variety of alcohol, tequila, to design a tequila cloud.

The cloud was designed by a team from LAPIZ who achieved the tequila cloud by placing the tequila into an ultrasonic humidifier. Inside the humidifier the alcohol was vibrated at a particular frequency to transform it into a visible mist. The mist then goes into a plastic container where it mixes with vapor sprays of tequila, forming a proper cloud. Small droplets of alcohol fall from the cloud over time.

The reason for the cloud was an attempt to remind Germans of the beautiful weather in Mexico and encourage tourism to the country.

The tequila cloud was featured at an art gallery in Berlin called Urban Spree, from March 8 to the 12.
