The Hello Bench shortens when someone is sitting at each end

When people sit down on a bench they usually sit at the opposite end to anyone else already there. Nescafé Italia designed a special bench that brings people together and helps them forge new friendships. The Hello Bench at Milan Design Week promoted the role coffee has in building relationships by offering pedestrians a red mug and a red bench to sit and enjoy it on. Whenever a person was sitting at each end, the bench was activated, shortening to move them closer together and break the ice for a conversation to start.
