When someone walks out the front door, they want to look their best and give everyone a great first impression. A person can get hung up on which outfit they should wear from their numerous options. Amazon wants to make this process easier by adding a new device to the Echo product line called the Echo Look. This style assistant device has a camera attached and comes with Alexa installed to help a user pick out their best outfit for any occasion, while also cataloging all of the user’s clothing and giving those outfits a rating.

The Echo Look can attach to a wall to look down at a user as they try on a new outfit, or have it remain freestanding on a desk or table. The device also has a microphone installed for a user to make requests, such as taking a picture of them in an outfit or making a small video to see how they look from multiple angles. A built-in LED light makes it easier for a user to see themselves if they don’t have enough light.

A user can also download a companion application called Style Check to their smartphone. From here a user can compare two outfits to view which of them has a higher rating. The Look gives these ratings using an algorithm put together by fashion specialists. The ratings don’t have numbers, instead using phrases like, “We Like This Better,” and, “Definitely Pick This One,” when comparing two outfits. The algorithm accounts for fit, color, style, and current trends.

The Echo Look also works like the Echo speaker, where a user can request to have the device’s speakers play their local news or music. Additional functions will get added to the Look in the future as more customers have access to it and provide feedback on what they want. Right now, only select users can purchase the product as Amazon has limited it to an invitation-only product.

Amazon has a product page up right now where interested users can request to receive an invitation to purchase the Echo Look, available for $199.99.
