How BMW Is Trying To Make The Case For Electric Cars

BMW has noted the advance of emerging technologies by holding training conferences for employees to understand and embrace these changes

BMW has held several training conferences since January of this year focused on detailing emerging technologies and the shift in the car market to their employees. This shift has led the car company to lose its lead in the market with Mercedes-Benz taking the company’s sales mantle and other competitors, such as Tesla, making a bigger splash.

The common theme BMW had at these conferences was the discussion of fear and the need to change. Customers have transitioned from wanting a gasoline powered car to driving an electric vehicle. Employees have even had talks to prepare for the time a customer may request to get driven by a taxi driven by a robot they requested through an application they downloaded. The focal point of these conferences were for employees to adapt to new technologies and embrace them through understanding.

Despite the discussions of fear, BMW has posted record revenue and profits, however, competitors have kept up and the luxury car company wants to take back the lead.
