In Brief

The branding company The Public Group modified the packaging of milk cartons to show how much fat they contain with S, M and L

The Public Group, a strategic branding company based in Belarus, tasked its designers to create a unique packaging concept for milk cartons. The team decided to use the labels small, medium, and large (SML) to display how much fat the milk contained, similar to how clothing items get tagged, with small having the least amount and large having the most.

The new packaging stacks the three choices of fat content in the middle. Whichever amount of fat content the milk has, the label goes in the center with a clear circle for customers to quickly glance at the one they want. The SML labels still follow a color coding system for fat content as to not entirely change the look of the product, while also having the percentage placed at the bottom.

The Public Group wanted to use this design to show milk producers it was possible for them to modify and change the packaging design for their products.
