LeGrow lets gardeners resize, add lights and even simulate a morning fog for their home plants

Many designers are coming up with unique ways to bring plants inside the home. Here at PSFK, we’ve recently come various examples of household plants being fashioned into regular household objects or green walls turning into indoor air purifiers. This time around, this LeGrow concept makes modular, adaptive and a worthy centerpiece for any living space.

What’s unique about this system is the cellular approach. Every single block of the LeGrow is good on it’s own. But as you invest in more pods, you don’t only create a bigger garden patch, you add more capabilities.

The basic LeGrow pot makes planting less messy. Under the dirt, a reservoir collects excess water so they don’t leak. That means no dirt will escape too. The collected water circulates inside keeps the dirt moist and the solution at the roots is matched by a solution for the leaves

Indoor plants don’t always get enough sun. With LeGrow, however, it is possible to add lighting pods. These light-emitting segments can be fitted through stacked LeGrow pods. So while natural sunlight is the best for plants, if a desk is not situated near the window, they can still survive on the LeGrow. The system’s LED lamps can shine up to 50,000 lumens down onto the plants and they automatically turn on for six hours a day.

Another interesting addition is the beautiful LeGrow Humidifier— a bulb-shaped water container is reversed on a special LeGrow pod. As the water vapor escapes the set-up, the indoor garden instantly transforms into a tropical rainforest. The cloudy mist escaping from this pod engulfs the small garden. This illusion makes a LeGrow station look like a living miniature of an actual rainforest. Both the LED pods and humidifier are powered by a strip of USB plugs. If they’re not in use, the plugs can be used for charging devices.

The LeGrow indoor gardening system is now available for pre-order from Kickstarter. The simplest kit starts at $34 while a bunch of 17 pots, 2 LED lamps and a humidifier can be purchased in bulk for $159.
