An updated version of their Spectacles could see dinosaurs walking around the streets

On May 5, Snapchat issued a patent with several wearables and gadgets the company could release in the future, including an updated version of Spectacles, the augmented reality glasses that the company released in November of last year.

The glasses would have a pair of small displays above the lenses in the middle of the frame to scan the wearer’s surroundings. These displays would use this information to integrate the augmented reality on the lenses and make it fit into the environment. One example Snapchat had in the patent included a Tyrannosaurs Rex stomping around the middle of a street.

Snapchat did not release any announcements about their new version of Spectacles or provide a timeline of when these could release to the public.
