The XTND electric skateboard was built with artificial intelligence to learn about the rider and adjust settings based on the rider's preferences

A new electric skateboard, XTND, comes with a built-in artificial intelligence that connects to a rider’s phone or smartwatch through an app.

The more the rider uses the skateboard, the more the AI learns about them, from the way they like to ride to the routes they like to take. When the AI picks up on a route a rider typically uses, the app might suggest a different one if it can save battery life or provide a smoother trail. Safety features include built-in lights that activate at night and brakes that engage when a rider falls off the board or lock until a rider properly distributes their weight. The app uses GPS to track the board if it is lost or stolen.

A Kickstarter campaign for XTND launched in May and has already surpassed its funding goal.
