In Brief

The electric scooter links to your calendar so it can plan your trips automatically

BMW has created an urban-electric motorcycle called the BMW Motorrad Concept Link that syncs to riders’ online calendars to get riders to where they need to be. The bike is replete with a touchscreen dashboard and a smart seat that automatically adjusts to whoever is riding it.

The design of the bike is informed by the flat energy packs in the underfloor and the compact drive on the rear wheel. Additionally, the low height of the bike makes it easy for riders to hop on from the side or back. The bike also boasts a smart windscreen that can displays directions directly on the screen so riders don’t have to pull over to look at a map.

In addition to the future-forward design of the bike, smart clothing has also be developed to make the experience of interacting with the bike as seamless as possible. A swiping motion on the arm of the jacket opens and closes the sliding door of a luggage compartment found under the seat. The scooter is part of a series of vehicles designed to be show the possibilities of the Future of Transport.
