Bumble Is Opening A Real Space In New York For Dates To Meet Up

Now that online dating has become the new norm, Bumble, the women-oriented dating app, has created a physical space that links both online and offline interactions.

The physical space is aptly called the Hive and its built to embody the Bumble brand. Decked out in yellows and hexagonal embellishments and furnishings, the Hive is a beautiful spot for a meetup. This Hive’s full name is actually #BumbleHiveNYC and it is only the pioneer of a series of temporary Bumble spaces. Soon, there will be Hives opening up in different cities.

Bumble has recently expanded its offering to other kinds of networking. Its dating service Bumble Honey is joined by Bumble BFF which helps women find friends through the app. Coming later this year is Bumble Bizz, a platform for women to build their business contacts through the app. Unlike Tinder or OkCupid, Bumble gained popularity because of its women-talk-first policy and stricter filtering. Through this, they have created an online dating platform that feautres less of the usual sleaze.

And just like the app is multi-purpose, the #BumbleHiveNYC is more than just a meet-up point for dates. During the first four days of June, the site hosted free brunches, a bar and nighttime soirees featuring Whispering Angel Rose, beats by DJ Rose, custom cocktails from Tattoo, and hairdos by Drybar. The #BumbleHiveNYC will be open for a month at 158 Mercer St. For the next few weeks, women might expect more empowering events. The official blog reads:

“Welcome to #BumbleHiveNYC, the first in a series of experiential destinations from Bumble. Designed to embody Bumble’s digital experience in physical form, #BumbleHiveNYC will convene leading female thinkers, artists, and entrepreneurs to celebrate the empowerment of women across all facets of life. #BumbleHiveNYC is a safe space where guests can expect complimentary entertainment, drinks and snacks, and interactive sessions with thought leaders and entrepreneurs. “
