Publishing House Bot Automatically Dishes Out Literary Captions For Selfies
In Brief
Brazilian publishers made a chatbot that recommends quotes from books to go with personal images
Brazilian publishing company LeYa programmed a chatbot to suggest a literary quote for a user’s selfie caption, based on what appears in the photograph.
Before a user posts the selfie, they can interact with the chatbot to choose the best caption. The program gives the user two options: describe the photo or have the user search through suggestions. When a user chooses the describe option, they can simply tell the chatbot what’s in the photo and the program chooses the best quote for the description. When a user chooses the suggestion option, they pick from a category and receive numerous literary quotes that would work for things happening in a photograph in those specific categories.
After the user receives the quote, the chatbot also shares a link offering the opportunity to purchase the book the user quoted at a reduced price.
