Arti is a new chatbot that helps students find and sell textbooks just by using Facebook Messenger

Although summer may be in full swing, it won’t be long until college students need to buy yet another round of expensive textbooks. Developer Shooq is looking to make the process as easy as accessing Facebook Messenger. Their latest add-on Arti is a chatbot that helps people buy and sell their textbooks.

People can ask to buy a book, and the bot will prompt them to input the necessary information before showing prices from major booksellers, like Amazon and ValoreBooks, to pick what best fits their budget. Students looking to sell their own books can input them into the chat, choose to be paid by PayPal or Venmo, and then arrange for a courier to pick up the books themselves at their earliest convenience. The add-on is currently in beta, though Shooq is welcoming beta-testers to try it out for themselves.
