Luxury car company Audi released the 2018 Audi A8 with a new feature for bored drivers stuck in traffic or driving at slow speeds: Traffic Jam Pilot. The AI starts up when drivers hit a button located at the center of the steering wheel. The semi-autonomous vehicle then takes over, as long as the car is traveling at a speed slower 37 miles per hour.

The AI manages starting, steering, accelerating and braking without guidance from the driver. During this time, drivers have the opportunity to take their hands off the wheel and do other activities, such as watching television on the vehicle’s built-in screen. The car is equipped with other AI pilot modes, such as parking and garage pilot, which do not require the driver at the wheel. These functions will not immediately be released when the 2018 Audi A8 goes on sale, but will gradually become available to drivers throughout 2018.

The 2018 Audi A8 is expected to go on sale this fall.
