Icelandair wants to entertain its passengers with an exclusive play that details the company's history and future

Icelandair had their flight attendants learn how to perform a play to entertain passengers while flying. The short play is called ‘Opening Flight’ and details the history, and future, of the Icelandic airline.

The idea for the play was conceived after the airline performed a survey to gather feedback from passengers. The results showed that more than half of the travelers who responded complained of boredom and 78% of surveyors thought the flight attendants could improve their experience. The play is meant to improve passenger morale, however, given the restrictions of live performance, it was made exclusive. To celebrate the company’s 80th anniversary, Icelandair launched a giveaway called the Stopover Pass, which offers passengers the chance to win a flight from London to New York, with a stopover in Iceland and accommodations, and see flight attendants perform the play during the journey.

The special flight takes off on September 8.
