With AI speaker assistants all the rage at the moment, Chinese e-commerce company Alibaba Group revealed its own device called the Tianmao Jingling X1, also known as the Tmall Genie X1. The five inch-tall device is equipped to assist owners with scheduling, fact finding, music streaming, news cast streaming, along with controlling other smart devices connected to it. Much like Amazon’s Echo, the device is powered by an AI called AliGenie. The Genie X1 is activated by the voice command “Tianmao Jingling”, similar to the Echo which requires owners to say “Alexa.”

The Alibaba Group will have the Tmall Genie X1 on the market for 499 yuan or USD $73, and is slated for shelves on August 8.
