After years of working the online clothing market, Everlane wants to create a real retail store in San Francisco

Online clothing retailer Everlane plans to launch a permanent brick-and-motor retail store this year in San Francisco. This is huge news, considering the direct-to-consumer clothing retailer would normally only open pop-up stores to promote specific products or to host themed shopping events.

It’s also surprising, considering Michael Preysman, Everlane CEO and founder, told Racked.com two years ago that they didn’t have plans to open a physical location. Then almost a year to the day, the company opened up Everlane Lab in their office headquarters in New York to test shopping concepts and experiences without having to commit to a permanent store. Well now, the company wants to make it official.

The Everlane retail store is slated to open on 461 Valencia Street in San Francisco’s Mission district.
