Ho Cube is a workstation that features a filing cabinet, shelves, a lamp and a stool

Barcelona-based designer Francesc Rifé has developed a home office for the Spanish furniture brand JMM that conveniently folds away when not in use. Ho Cube is part of JMM’s new Black Tone design collection. The office in a cube is finished in a combination of wood and micro-textured lacquer, with nickel hinges.

Providing a compact space to work and keep documents or valuable objects, the console transforms into a workstation with built-in electrification and LED lighting. It features a cabinet for files, shelving, a task lamp and a stool. The brand notes how its design plays with movement; when it is open it speaks of pragmatism, and while closed the piece evokes geometry.

Ho Cube was awarded the HiP Award for best product at NeoCon 2017 in Chicago, which honors industry professionals and innovative products in the sector. The home office would suit those with limited space who desire a piece of furniture where they can work and then tuck away when they’re finished.
