A pair of new smart shoes will have the capacity to heat the bottom of the shoe for the wearer and assess potential foot injuries

A new ‘intelligent sneaker’ called Digitsole Smartshoe connects to the wearer’s smartphone to go beyond simply showing how many steps the person takes or counting the calories they burn. Through a companion app, the wearer can turn on the shoe’s heated soles, have a set of hydraulics tighten the laces for a better fit or get an injury assessed should the wearer start to walk unlike they normally would.

The team behind Digitsole Smartshoe ran a Kickstarter campaign for the sneakers, which surpassed its goal of $50,000.
