A new BBC drama prompts the listener to answer questions the characters of the story ask

BBC’s research and development lab created a new interactive story told through voice-activated devices, such as the Amazon Echo or Google Home. BBC named the story “The Inspection Chamber”.

The “Inspection Chamber” stars Dave, the female robot, and Kay and Joseph, two scientists. In the story the two scientists attempt to classify the new life form in their lab, who is the listener. To do this, they ask the life form questions from how they feel, to if they feel special. The listener knows they need to answer question when they hear a specific ‘ping’ sound, and then they answer the question, there’s a confirmation sound. The developers recommend listeners sit to properly participate in the story, and the entire story lasts for about 20 minutes.

Though the overall story’s plot doesn’t change, certain details do based on the way the listener answered the story’s questions.
