Snapbots dispense the Snapchat-connected sunglasses to tennis fans during the tournament

Snapchat Spectacles are available for fans at the 2017 U.S. Open, giving them the chance to share tennis stories from their own viewpoint using the HD-filming sunglasses. Images and video they record can then be shared on Snapchat.

The Spectacles can be purchased throughout the tournament from August 28 to September 10. They are being dispensed on-site by vending machines called Snapbots. These Snapbots made their way to the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center by land, sea and air, with U.S. Open women’s doubles champion Bethanie Mattek-Sands using the Spectacles from a helicopter carrying one of the Snapbots.
