Entertainment has a big influence on trends in advertising, retail and beyond. PSFK takes a look at some of the highlights of what the industry has brought us in recent months, in the form of products that bring the show beyond the screen.

Star Wars Vegan Sneakers

With the newest installment of the Star Wars saga coming to theaters in December, shoe brand Po-Zu created a collection of sustainable vegan sneakers based on the film series. They were able to make the limited series sneakers with a leather-like texture made from pineapple leaf fibers designed with The Resistance logo, a famous symbol for the heroes of the franchise. The collection also includes furry vegan boots modeled after everyone’s favorite Wookie, Chewbacca. The makers of the collection wanted to make a product that those strong with the force could wear with style while also being environmentally conscious.

Game of Thrones Mobile Game App

Fans of the hit show Game of Thrones are still talking about the finale of its most recent season. While they wait a year and then some for the next one, HBO is releasing a new game based on the series called Game of Thrones: Conquest. The game, which can be downloaded for mobile, allows the player to rule their own houses, form alliances and attempt to rule the seven kingdoms much like the characters on the show. As you fight for the throne, you can also interact with characters from the show such as Tyrion Lannister or Jon Snow. The Iron Throne could be yours—until the new season starts, of course.

Netflix Marijuana Strains

Netflix isn’t only interested in producing award-winning television and movies: The streaming platform recently tried its hand making products based on their original content. The newest product is a collection of marijuana strains launched to coincide with the release of the original show Disjointed. The six different strains are named after Netflix’s most popular shows, including Orange Is The New Black, Arrested Development and Wet Hot American Summer, with the implicit purpose of making the shows more enjoyable to watch. The Netflix cannabis strains are available to customers with a medical marijuana card in California.

Disney Wedding Gowns

For those who have ever dreamed of being a Disney Princess, what better occasion to make this a reality than at your very own wedding. A bridal company in Japan called Kuraudia Co. is giving brides that chance with its collection of gowns modeled after the costumes of princesses from Disney films. Licensed by Walt Disney Japan, the collection offers modern takes on dresses from classic characters such as Snow White, Belle from Beauty and the Beast and Cinderella. The brides aren’t the only ones who get live out this fantasy as they also have the “Prince” tuxedo for grooms to match their princesses. The gowns will be released in November, and couples all over Japan will be able to make their special day a live-action fairy tale.
