Performers Turn A Kia Car Into A Musical Instrument

A video for the auto company's new Rio aims to show how a small car can do big things

Kia has launched a marketing campaign ahead of the release of its 2018 Rio vehicle, reinforcing the old adage that good things can come in small packages. A 90-second ad directed by online producer and musician Julian Smith features the Rio 5-door and a group of percussionists, musicians and DJs.

The performers use different parts of the car as musical instruments to create a song together. The revving engine, hood release latch, tailgate, doors, windows, center console, glovebox, door locks, turn signal, windshield wipers, chimes and horn are all utilized.
